SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES                

The overall objective of the Research Infrastructures Programme under Horizon Europe is to empower Europe through world-class and accessible research infrastructures, as part of an integrated European research and technology infrastructures landscape. Research infrastructures (RIs), including the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), and technology infrastructures (Tis) are crucial enablers of research and technological innovation and drivers of multidisciplinary and data-intensive science. 

In this work programme, 5 destinations are identified as; 

• Developing, consolidating and optimising the European research infrastructures landscape, maintaining global leadership
• Enabling an operational, open and FAIR EOSC ecosystem
• RI services to support health research, accelerate the green and digital transformation, and advance frontier knowledge
• Next generation of scientific instrumentation, tools and methods and advanced digital solutions
• Network connectivity in Research and Education – Enabling collaboration without boundaries

Expected Impact

• Disruptive research and breakthrough science and innovation through cutting-edge, interconnected and sustainable Research Infrastructures
• Transforming the way researchers as well as the public and private sectors create, share and exploit research outputs
• A new generation of researchers trained to optimally exploit all the essential and advanced tools for their research;
• Development of skills of RI staff aligned with the advancements of the RI Technologies
• Opening up of new areas of research and development of new industrial applications/products

ELIGIBILITY & ADMISSIBILITY CRITERIA

Applications must be submitted electronically via the Funding & Tenders Portal electronic submission system (accessible via the topic page in the Search Funding & Tenders section).

To be eligible for funding, applicants must be established in one of the eligible countries:

• the Member States of the European Union, including their outermost regions;
• the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) linked to the Member States 
• eligible non-EU countries: 
  • countries associated to Horizon Europe 
• low- and middle-income countries
